PAEDIATRIC PHYSIOTHERAPY
WHAT IS PAEDIATRIC PHYSIOTHERAPY?
Paediatric Physiotherapists are trained in the treatment and management of children, from newly born infants to 18 year old teenagers, for a variety of conditions ranging from musculoskeletal injuries to neurological development. Whether it’s providing advice to assist your child reaching their next motor milestone, assessing for signs of developmental delay, treating your baby’s torticollis, or nurturing your young athlete to recover from a sporting injury, specific physiotherapy tailored to babies and children is the most ideal. We aim to improve a child’s physical and cognitive development through the use of methods such as movement training, strengthening, exercise, stretching, intensive therapy programmes, adapted equipment, motor learning and play as well as education.
As children are unquestionably different from adults. From their mannerisms and ways of communication down to their anatomy, the differences are undeniable. Helping children with physiotherapy must therefor take a unique individualised approach from an anatomical, physiological, and psychological aspect also. At Dynamic Stability, our Young Dynamics service believe that to treat children effectively, all these issues need to be considered.
HOW CAN YOUNG DYNAMICS HELP YOUR CHILD?
Our Paediatric Physiotherapist will utilise various tools, and specific skill sets, to assess your child for any signs of developmental delays – neurologically and physically. It’s not uncommon for children to present with multiple issues. Once assessed, we can then formalise an early intervention plan for your child accordingly. Our Paediatric Physiotherapist can also help your children with poor movement coordination, sensory deficits, and sporting injuries.
Some of the common concerns that parents usually bring their children in to see us include:
