Chronic Pain Rehabilitation

Chronic pain affects 1 in 5 Australians. Chronic pain is complex, involving changes in the nerve tissue and nervous system. These changes often cause the nerve to keep firing and increases the person’s pain sensitivity. So that chronic pain does not take over a person’s life, rehabilitation must focus on physical reconditioning, medication management as well as psychological coping strategies.

As well as a tailored physical rehab program, our physiotherapists will liaise closely with your doctors, psychologists, and our network of specialists to ensure your recovery is optimal.

Arthritic Change Management

Arthritis is an umbrella term referring to painful conditions affecting our joints. It can cause pain and stiffness to many parts of the joint and almost every joint in the body. There are over 100 types of arthritis affecting both children and adults. Sadly 1 in 5 Australians has arthritis, with a higher prevalence in women.

Some common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, and ankylosing spondylitis. Research has shown that regular tailored exercises are the most effective treatment. People with arthritis are advised to do a mix of mobility exercises, strengthening exercises and fitness exercises.

Pilates is a great form of exercise for arthritic joints. The low impact exercises help to build muscular strength, whilst reducing symptoms of pain and inflammation.

Dynamic Stability Pre & Post Natal Care

Pre & Postnatal Care

Pilates is a great form of exercise to do while pregnant, as it is safe and effective. The focus is on exercises to strengthen the deep abdominal, pelvic and postural muscles to accommodate the growing baby.

During pregnancy a hormone called “relaxin” is released which effects collagen in muscles, ligaments & tendons. This can cause low back and pelvic pain, so it’s important to strengthen the appropriate muscle groups to minimise this effect.

Pilates also helps to prepare the body for labour and for recovery & preparation as a new mother.

Dynamic Stability Falls & Balance

Falls and Balance

Falls happen, no matter what your age. The truth is, the higher your age, the more susceptible you are to falling. We offer ‘Dynamic Balance’ classes to improve all areas of balance and stability.

  • Building muscle strength and tone, improving flexibility, improving single leg balance and proprioception, strength and mobility of the feet, increased core strength and improved confidence as well as many more.

Give reception a call to enquire if these classes are suitable for you. We can advise if you also need an initial assessment with one of our physiotherapists

Dry Needling

Dry needling is an effective and efficient technique for the treatment of muscular pain and dysfunction. It is extremely effective for relaxing overactive muscles, which contain trigger points. In simple terms, the treatment involves needling of a muscle’s trigger points without injecting any substance.

At Dynamic Stability our Physiotherapists are specifically trained in using dry needling extensively within their practices with great results.

Paediatric Assessment & Management

Paediatric physiotherapists are specially trained to provide therapeutic interventions within the context of the developing child. They have extensive knowledge of child development relating to neurological, cardio-respiratory and musculoskeletal health.

Some common musculoskeletal conditions seen by a paediatric physiotherapist include sporting injuries and growing pain, Osgood Schlatter’s and Sever’s Disease, postural concerns, persistent pain, developmental delay, balance and coordination issues, plagiocephaly and torticollis, idiopathic toe walking, scoliosis and hypermobility, strength training, fitness and weight management advice. If you would like to book your child in for an assessment please do not hesitate to contact us.

Dynamic Stability Connect Therapy

Connect Therapy

ConnectTherapy™ is an innovative total body and whole person physiotherapy approach which involves a full body assessment to diagnose the key driving areas of a clients problem, rather than treating just the painful area. This means we will potentially treat your cranium, jaw, neck, back, shoulder, pelvis, hip, knee, foot and ankle.

The Thoracic Ring Approach™ is a technique created by LJ Lee that treats the upper back as a functional 3D unit. It includes techniques to release (sometimes un recognised) tension and regain optimal control and function of one of the biggest parts of the body – the trunk.

Dynamic Stability RUNIT Assessment

RUNITY Assessment & programming

We offer comprehensive running assessments at Dynamic Stability. During this analysis we video you running on the treadmill, measure joint angles, perform screening tests and set up a series of exercises for you to do to improve your running efficiency.

It is quite common to see improvements within 1 single session. If you are interested, just book in with one of our Physio’s that are trained in the ‘Runity Method”
