  • Ingrid Lamb

    In addition to being a former Director and Founder of Body Logic Pilates in Melbourne Ingrid is an Internationally recognised and accredited Polestar Pilates teacher trainer and Examiner and since joining the Polestar Australia team of Educators in 2005, Ingrid has run Pilates courses nationally. She has also developed and facilitated workshops internationally such as “ The Complicated Shoulder Myth”, “ Inspiration and Flow” and “Pilates Arc and Exo-Chair” workshops.

    Ingrid has also designed, developed and manufactured a Pilates shoulder girdle apparatus the “Body Band”.

    Ingrid has trained with highly recognised Pilates leaders U.S. such as Lolita San Miguel, and Deborah Lesson. Her extensive experience in Pilates developed over the past 15 years has encompassed specialised areas such as  Neurological disorders, Stroke rehabilitation, children, scoliosis and Women’s Health and in developing Wellbeing programs for individuals. 

  • Karin Krouse

    Karin holds a Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction certified through Polestar and is a qualified Australian Pilates Method Association (APMA) Instructor. She has completed the Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method, a Stretch Therapist Training Program with Kit Laughlin, as well as a Teacher Training course in ‘Innovations in Pilates’ the name given to the teaching of Therapeutic Muscle Stretching performed on the Pilates reformer. She continues to focus on the ongoing journey of learning continually adding to her existing skills and knowledge. Karin is a mentor/assistant educator for the Polestar pilates course.

    Karin has a special passion for using Pilates to rehabilitate back, neck, shoulder, hip, and knee injuries. Her small group Pilates teaching is characterised by her ability to customize programs for each client that focus on variety and attention to detail. Karin also teaches mat and allegro classes.

    Karin began Pilates in 2000 after experiencing recurring lower back pain.  The effect of Pilates on her back recovery was so profound that she decided to share this passion for Pilates with other people. It is her commitment to quality, combined with passion and a true belief in the Pilates method that drives Karin to assist other people in achieving the best possible outcomes. Prior to this, she was an Iyengar Yoga Teacher certified by the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute, Pune, India and a translator for English, French and German. 

     

  • Meghan Ambrens

     Over the last 10 years Meghan Ambrens has developed a special interest in the treatment of Arthritis.  A multi-skilled clinican, Meghan has spent the last 5 years lecturing at a Melbourne University while also completing 14 months of work as part of a research team studying the role of Pilates on balance, bone mineral density and arthritis.  Now having returned to the clinic full time, Meghan is passionate about sharing her knowledge of arthritis and the role of pilates in reducing pain, improving joint function and strength with her clients. 

    Meghan Ambrens is available for consultation in our Richmond studio and also takes private and group classes. 

  • Lauren Tscharke

     

     

    Lauren's passion for health and wellbeing lead to her completing a degree in Occupational Therapy in 2008, studying at the University of South Australia. Lauren commenced working in the field of injury management in South Australia before moving to Melbourne. Since living in Melbourne Lauren furthered her career moving into corporate injury management and also gaining experience in a clinical setting working in an acute hospital.

     

    Lauren is passionate about optimising performance and rehabilitation. Lauren played Netball at a state league level for over 14 years and represented both South Australia and Victoria in national competitions and the Australian Netball League. She also received a scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport which saw her live in Canberra for 12 months. Lauren was also selected in underage Australian squads. Lauren was also passionate about dancing and danced competitively for 13 years. 

     

    Lauren also used Pilates extensively prior to and after the birth of her son. Lauren's involvement in sport at an elite level and her work as an Occupational Therapist combined together to form a love for Pilates. Lauren finds it rewarding to assist people to be able to meet their goals and believes that Pilates is the perfect exercise method as it can be adapted and modified to suit each individuals ability.  Lauren enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dog, cooking and loves to be outdoors.

  • Eliza Mulholland

    Eliza was introduced to Pilates to complement her training in classical ballet as a young teen and her practice continued into her professional life after she moved to Denmark to commence her career with the Royal Danish Ballet. She performed as a corps member of the company for 2.5 seasons before returning to Australia due to an injury. It was during her recovery and rehabilitation that she consolidated her relationship with Pilates.

    Inspired by a local Polestar educator, Eliza commenced her training with Polestar Pilates and she is now teaching 1 on 4 and reformer group classes as well as studying Physiotherapy at the Australian Catholic University.

    Eliza enjoys sharing her love of Pilates with everyone and is excited to work with people from all different backgrounds with different abilities and needs.

    She is looking forward to continuing to develop her Pilates practice in conjunction with her continuing education.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

  • Melissa Mazzarino


    Melissa obtained a Bachelor of Nursing/Midwifery and a Masters in Clinical Midwifery through La Trobe University.  Melissa has been a registered midwife for over 10 years. Since graduated in 2003, she has enjoyed working in a variety of settings ranging from private hospitals to community health centres. She was the recipient of the 2007 Australian Nursing Federation Irving Buzzard Midwifery Prize for theoretical and clinical excellence. Along with her hospital clinical role, Melissa is a passionate university lecturer and has embarked on a PhD investigating exercise and pregnancy. 

    Whilst still a Yoga enthusiast Melissa was introduced to Pilates through her husband and began to rapidly identify the benefits of Pilates not only for herself but for the childbearing women she cares for. Melissa appreciates how Pilates movement philosophy can assist women to balance and connect their mind, body and spirit, whilst supporting women’s physical, emotional and social transition to motherhood. This understanding inspired her to develop unique exercise programs integrating her midwifery knowledge with Pilates called Dynamic Birth for pregnant women and Dynamic Women for postnatal women.

    Melissa is a Certified Polestar Pilates Mat Practitioner and is currently completing her Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction through Polestar Pilates.

    When not ‘Pilating’, Melissa enjoys shopping watching movies, traveling, "glamping", reading, writing, meditation, and spending time with her family and impersonating her eccentric pet dog Lily. 

     

     

  • Alex Carroll

    Alex Carroll's love affair with Pilates began several years ago. Initially introduced to Pilates to improve her flexibility and fitness, she developed a passion for the practice and was inspired to undertake her certification so that she could share the benefits of Pilates with others. Alex is now a fully certified Pilates instructor, in 2014 she completed the Pilates International Matwork Instruction qualification (91492NSW) and recently graduated with a Diploma of Polestar Pilates in early 2017.

    Alex is motivated by the belief that Pilates is an invaluable skill that can offer great benefits to people from all walks of life - from the injured, to the elderly, children, as well as those who are fit and healthy. Alex works with clients of all levels of ability, seeking out any opportunity to increase her own knowledge and to share her love and enjoyment of Pilates with others. She gets great satisfaction from guiding her clients to master the Pilates exercises and progress in achieving their own personal goals.  

     

  • Tania North

     

    Tania’s journey into Pilates began in 1998, following an injury incurred through her dance training. Her interest in the Pilates method developed quickly and she moved from her dance study and teaching into the study of Pilates early in 2001, completing the Polestar Pilates Studio certification in 2003. Coming from a dance background she teaches from a movement perspective, and her influences stem strongly from time spent in New York where she taught, and also advanced in her own personal development.

     

    After spending time at home raising three boys she has returned to her Pilates teaching with excitement and motivation. Her teaching style focuses intensely on the traditional Pilates principles including breath and core control, and her passion lies with delivering these techniques within a hard and fast paced workout.
